STILLNESS IN MOTION
Scene One: Chaos
A testament to three different states of our journey within the context of being still while moving…
The idea of embracing the process as we move towards something, though needing to be still to find the movement in stillness.
Or the other way around, being in quiet stillness as we wait for some motion to take place and in both scenarios, knowing that we will meet with the same three elements of reclaiming ownership: chaos, connection and purpose.
Like when burn-out called us into forced stillness, to find a new space to move. Like when we were so stagnated and nothing seemed to be happening and our own inner mess pushed us into making the first step towards some motion and a new creation was possible again.
As we explore the moving and the staying still we are basically recognising the ways time is fleeting by. We are realising the normality of our ordinary living and finding the sacred quietness that takes place even in the most chaotic of moments.
How when we look into the depths of our moving from one choice to the next there is in the end, an invitation to relate to time and its hidden treasured gifts.
Moving slowly, slowly into our inner and outer lives…
only if we realised that time is acutely not waiting, only flowing.
Blink. A month has passed. Blink Blink. A year. Blink a decade….
From stillness to motion is a 3 scene series where we move slowly into the depths of our story to embrace the chaos, to connect again with our landscapes and aiming to discover a purpose that takes us back into what truly matters, amongst the ordinary or the un-extraordinary realities that we live in.
How fast? How slow?
Time will tell. Soul will guide.
This is the trend.
The pulsation of our summer muse: Chaos - Connection - Purpose
SCENE 1: CHAOS
Prologue
There is a sense of a heavy heart and expectation for better days when the eyes open in the early still quiet morning and I remember that it is yet another day of rushing and catching up with so many things that need tending. Another morning older, feeling eyelids shift another millimetre down and the lines of my face showing stronger. Reaching for the chocolaty smell of Colombian coffee to make everything just feel better, recognising the mess in the living room from the day before and some mess in the kitchen that I couldn't be bothered picking up the night before.
Sensing how fleeting it all is.
That voice that keeps whispering, “you will miss this too” is playing in my head and I trust it, I rely on it, and I yield to it with a sense of relief that it is there, this voice, reminding me and giving me the sense of fullness and hope that sometimes seems lost.
Lost in the translation from the chaos of reality to the connection with inner truth that promises a sense of purpose. It seems to be the secret rhythm that I need to acknowledge.
It is the fleetingness that makes a messy kitchen with children jumping around playing a water gun fight feel like a gem.
Or in other words, there is something about reconciling these worlds of the raw outer chaos with the inner voice that connects us to purpose, that allows for reconciliation and hope.
As a beautiful friend said once:
“how endless our treasures are in brief, un-extraordinary moments”.

O snail Climb Mount Fuji,
But slowly, slowly!
- Kobayashi Issa

Chaos
According to physics, chaos is the property of a complex system whose behaviour is so unpredictable as to appear random, owing to great sensitivity to small changes in conditions.
The chaos of choosing what you need to do to find clarity.
Disorder / Disarray / Random / Lack of intentional design.
Lets Journey into chaos together…
I have a maintenance appointment with my counsellor today, and I’m looking forward to seeing her. I managed to see clearly some monsters since the last time I saw her and I’m proud to check in with *waves of good-bye at all of that*. Most of it has to do with regulation of chaotic emotions, learning to work on the ways I can respond instead of react. How to remind myself to be loyal to my stillness and truly honestly recognising that other people’s projections are not my problem. I am entirely grounded now. It feels good.
What do you do for maintenance of your heart?

I crave some matzos with olive oil and sea salt and some avocado mash with lime on the side with a warm cup of English tea that I have learned to love, some almonds, some dried apricots and realised how much I love this kind of snacks. Messy in some way, but everything my body wants. I eat when I’m hungry, and I eat what I want, and that seems intuitive and healthy. And messy, but perfect.
What do you crave to eat or drink that helps you to bring your chaos into stillness?
I was listening to a catchy new favourite song Tiempo by Ozuna
while writing some content for a deares mothering project Im developing and I found myself chair dancing and singing at the top of my lungs. Caspian the cat, seemed very attuned to my vibes… and certainly was *very into them*, and came over to meow and rub his little head all over my legs while I danced. The more I moved, the more he loved on me. Cats are weird and amusing. Sometimes songs move us in some strange ways…
What´s your favourite recent song to dance to?

This clip is of Olympia Dukakis in the movie Moonstruck.
Her authenticity and her characters are so full of meaning.
Olympia owns an authentic connection to herself. She reminds me of the power we are able to own amidst the chaos of change, in the many ways ageing is waiting for us to see deeper into our inner life.
“So I constantly play women who are damaged and out of touch, who are seeking without knowing, or knowing without the skills to transform their lives. But then, that's really the fate of many women today.”
- Olympia Dukakis
What is your messy quiet revolution like?
As we close this First Scene in Chaos: something to ponder:
What brings out the best in you?
How can you connect to that this month?
May the peace of wild things be with you…
